Anti Discrimination & Anti Harassment in the Workplace

The Ontario Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario is proud to partner with the Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec Building Trades Council, as well as SMART Local 47 to present this training opportunity.

The 'Train the Trainer' program itself will take approximately 12 hours to complete over the course of two days, July 26-27th 2023, 9:00am to 3:30pm, including active class time and homework/preparation. This program is being offered to Train your Trainers, to then teach this program.

Lunch will be provided. Participants are required to bring their own notepads and writing equipment they need for notes.

After completing this course, participants will:

• Define discrimination and harassment, while identifying stigmas and prejudices within.
• Learning about the classes of discrimination and harassment and recognizing the relevant legislations to support anti-discrimination and harassment.
• Identifying what triggers within yourself that can lead to the domino effect of discrimination and harassment (anti-discrimination and anti-harassment pyramid). 
• Complete scenarios and toolbox talk.

The Discrimination & Harassment in the Workplace course is broken down into the following modules:

• MODULE 1 Stigmas and Prejudices
• MODULE 2 Classes of Discrimination
• MODULE 3 Classes of Harassment
• MODULE 4 Scenarios

All materials will be offered as work site toolbox talks

The training will be delivered at the SMART Local 47 Training Center at 765 Green Creek Drive, Ottawa, Ont, K1J1K6.
