Statement on Fall Economic Statement

The Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario welcomes the renewed commitments in the Ontario Fall Economic Statement to bolster our infrastructure and economy at a time of global uncertainty, especially given the trade pressures facing Ontario’s supply chains. Ensuring that the province’s large scale procurement and project investments focus on Ontario-based companies and construction workers is essential to safeguarding jobs and apprenticeships here at home. Our Council looks forward to working closely with the government to translate these commitments into real, on-site jobs for Ontario workers and to ensure that the pipelines of apprenticeship, journeyperson hiring and project participation are fully leveraged.
